The Multiplication Property of Equality
4
Multiplication Property of Equality
If a = b, then a · c = b · c for any real numbers a, b, and c. Example: Solve the equation 9x = 63. · · 9x = · (Multiply both sides by ) 1x= 7 x=7
5
Multiplication Property of Equality
Example: Solve the equation 8w = 3. To solve the equation we divide both sides of the equation by 8. 8w = 3 = w = Divide both sides by 8.
