“on” 79% Project funded by NIHR - developing apps which are based on our automatic speech recognition technology that can objectively "score" speech productions. These are aimed at two groups of patients who can require articulation therapy - that is used to treat patients who have difficulties producing speech sounds correctly. The therapy involves the patient repeatedly speaking the sounds or types of sounds that they have difficulty with. During the repetitious practice the therapist is constantly providing feedback to the patient on their productions. Through repetition and the expert feedback of their therapist the patient should slowly improve the accuracy of their productions. **But**, the repetitious nature of the therapy can make it difficult to deliver and the importance of appropriate feedback makes it very difficult for patients to practice alone between sessions with a therapist. The apps will prompt the patient to produce a particular word by playing an an example of the word for them to imitate. Different productions would be scored accordingly, and the patient would be able to see how they are progressing and whether each practice productions was better or worse that what they had previously achieved. These exercises will be turned into motivational games.
