Matrix: a rectangular array of variables or constants in horizontal ROWS and vertical COLUMNS
Element: each value in a matrix is called an element
A matrix can be described by its dimensions: an “ m X n” matrix has m rows and n columns

Column matrix: a matrix that is made up of only one column
Square matrix: matrix that has the same number of columns as rows
Zero matrix: matrix in which every element is 0
