2 About Redistricting Redistricting is the process of drawing new boundary lines for public offices Following each decennial federal census, trustee area boundaries are examined and, if necessary, adjustments are made the boundaries of any or all of the trustee areas One of the goals of redistricting is that districts be "nearly equal in population" California Education Code section 5000 Community college districts that elect trustees at-large but require they reside within trustee areas "rearranges“ boundaries rather than “redistricts”

20 Recommended Action The County Committee approve the realignment of SOCCCD Trustee area boundaries.
