2 COURSE INFORMATION Semester Long (2 Marking Periods)
Earn Half Credit Upon Passing Grade Required one full Credit to Graduate HS Take one semester each in Freshman/Sophomore year Instructors found at HS website

3 COURSE DESCRIPTION FIT FOR LIFE is the BIG IDEA
Understanding and awareness of the importance of Physical Activity in ones life Daily Activities with opportunity to improve individual level of fitness Understanding of concepts related to Physical Fitness and Lifetime Healthy Living

4 COURSE OBJECTIVES FOR STUDENTS
Understand and Apply concepts related to physical fitness and Lifetime enjoyment through activity Participation in daily activities Demonstrate evidence of Enduring Understandings through various Assessments using essential questions “Understanding by Design” principle through application of knowledge and concepts gained, not memorizing

5 DRESS REQUIREMENTS Shorts, Sweatpants, T-Shirts, Sweatshirts
No Tank Tops, Boots, Jean Shorts, or Large pieces of Jewelry Grades are affected for inappropriate attire or lack of preparation Grading Procedure to be discussed in later presentation

6 GRADING PROCEDURE Process (30%) includes class preparation and daily routines Product (70%) includes participation in class activities, demonstrating evidence of knowledge, and completion of unit assessments related to application of enduring understandings and essential questions

7 CLASS PROCEDURES Arrive to class BEFORE late Bell; doors will be locked at the bell Change for class and engage in warm-up activities as described and demonstrated Participate in class routines and activities Participate in class closures Change for class and dismiss at the bell

8 LOCKER ROOM CONDUCT A Privledge, not a right
Used to Change for class, use “Facilities” It is not a “lounge” for socializing; unless of course you are having a conversation with the person next to you while engaging in appropriate behaviors in there. Misuse will result in loss of privledges

9 CELL PHONES/IPODS THERE IS NO TOLERANCE FOR THE USE OF CELL PHONES OR IPODS IN THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION ENVIRONMENT ANY MEDIA THAT IS APPROPRIATE WILL BE SUPPLIED BY THE INSTRUCTORS STUDENTS SHOULD HAVE NO TECHNOLOGY IN THEIR POSSESSION WHILE IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION
