9. HISTORY
1999: Lone Star Security and Safety Services, founded by Rick Adams and Dave Blair in Eagle County, CO
Between 1999 and 2010 Lone Star grew in Eagle County and quickly became the provider for 95% of special events in the county as well as expansion into gated community Public Safety. During this time period Lone Star was nominated for Emerging Business of the Year and Business of the Year. Winning Business of the Year in Eagle County in 2003.
2010: April 9th Lone Star Security & Safety Services was purchased by Todd DeJong
2010: June 17th a 5 hour meeting was held by Todd DeJong and Lone Star managers about the future of the company – Lone Star training division was born
2011: Expanded into the luxury Hotel Loss Prevention market and has since proven the first, truly successful 3rd party high end Hotel Loss Prevention provider.
2011: Moved away from 1099 employees and redeveloped the Human Resources aspect of the company
2011: Expanded into mine security with a strong focus on the safety aspects of the industry. Affectively tripling our previous manpower requirements of the company
2011: Began expanding into the Aspen market
2012: Foremost Response was purchased from JJ Sutton and expanded into Grand Junction area.
2013: Expanded operations into the Front Range and Summit County. Began expanding on a National level taking contracts in Texas and providing consultancy and training throughout the country.
2013 was the years of Product Development

Continued growth throughout the USA with offices and management structure in place for Eagle, Mesa, Pitkin and Summit counties as well as the Front Range in Colorado.
Training Division Instructors training internal and external courses ranging from basic level security and safety to Executive Protection level qualifications including Krav-Maga, NRA firearms, Incident Command, Team Tactics, Hazard Communication and much more.
Recognized as industry professionals in safety and security consulting for Hotels, Schools, Hospitals and Work Facilities.
Hosting our first Hotel Loss Prevention Conference for Hotel GM’s and industry professionals with view to annual nation level conferences starting
Development of Hotel Loss Prevention, VIP Protection & Consulting brand name “The 5D Shield”.

5D Shield is a concept of in-depth safety and security protection against intentional, unintentional and distressing harm. 5D Shield – DETERS threats & hazards, DETECTS the potential risks and DEESCALATES them to a manageable level. If a threat or hazard cannot be prevented, learning to DEFEND against those that would do harm followed by a full DEBRIEF process of investigation rounds out the benchmarks of 5D Shield. In combination, the 5D’s provide an increased effectiveness for future deterrence, detection and de-escalation of additional incidents.
