1 College & Scholarship Applications

2 College What’s this College thing all about?
Four years of High School really goes by faster than we expect and our kids have quite a few tasks to complete to be ready for college and scholarship application deadlines. Just like graduations requirements much has changed in the last years and students can often feel lost and confused when they reach this step. The majority of college applications are only online and colleges look for a much more rigorous set of prep classes in order to meet application requirements. Although there are many options for support in completing this process, students must do the majority of the work themselves. Time and dedication are important.

8 The College Application
The Common Application The Common App is a college application that can be used to submit for multiple schools. Your student will create an account where he/she will add schools to their list, look up whether there are supplemental portions for each school, gather general application information, and upload a high school transcript, activities list, test scores and parent/legal guardian information. College websites Some colleges will require students to create accounts on their own websites to submit applications for that specific school. The application varies by school, and may have different requirements. For example, some schools may require a transcript or recommendation, some might not request it (optional), and some will tell you NOT to send them at all.
