Depuy was founded in 1998, it’s a firm of Johnson & Johnson company ,wich is the largest company in the wolrd of health care.
In Depuy there are about 700 employees and the firm work 5 day per a week and 24 hours by 24 hours.
Johnson&Johnson has got
for places in Ireland:
Limerick, Dublin, Cork
and Cashel

4. How to produce a prothesis?
Fist engineers and designers think and design the future prothesis
In Depuy there are 100 engineers.
Everybody works together to design the next products and it is very important.
The prosthesis has to preserve all natural movements !

5. After designing, moulding.
The prothesis are firstly
moulded in order to give
it the initial shape.
Most of the prothesis
are made of Cobalt- Crome ( 70% ), the other are made of Titanium which is stonger but it’s also more expensive.

6. POLISHING Polishing is very important because it avoids wearing .
A prothesis polish:
Each prosthesis is polished twice. ( Robot + Worker)
Workers wear protection glasses. Moreover, they must not stay polishing for a long time (to avoid breathing diseases)

7. Packaging and Sterilization
Finaly all the products are sterilized in a totaly sterilized room and then packaged to be send to Leed to the international distribution center in U.K

8. Surgery
Sells directly prosthesis to surgeons in spite of their expensive prices.
A prosthesis costs 5000 to 6000€

9. Conclusion
