Point of view There are positive and negative environmental consequences when obtaining, transforming and distributing energy resources. As countries become more advanced, the world is faced with the increasing needs for abundant, efficient, affordable and clean energy resources. We need energy for electricity (lights, hospital machines, air conditioning & heat, refrigeration of food and medicine, computer networks, banking), transportation and heat. It’s a balance, and everyone has different budgets, energy needs and perspectives.

You are going to look at energy resources from
You are an environmentalist/climate researcher responsible for decreasing the level of air pollution created by power plants. Cities you serve cannot have a reduction in the amount of electricity or other energy services as a result of your recommendations. You are the leader of an impoverished country where over 60% of the population does not have electricity. Major companies will not invest in facilities in your country unless they have dependable and adequate electricity access. You are the leader of a large, world-class city. Your city is growing at an enormous rate, has huge increases in industry and productivity, has increasing energy needs, and at times dangerous levels of air pollution. On any given day, emissions from power plants are times the levels recommended by the World Health Organization. You are a coal miner. You work in a local coalmine. You neighbors work in the mines or have businesses supported by the mines. Your state is the second largest coal producing state in the United States and accounts for 50% of US coal exports. There is a growing national movement to transition from coal to cleaner energy resources. You are going to look at energy resources from Two of the following perspectives..
