3. School Pics
School pictures for students and faculty will be October 11 starting at 8:00 (band usually goes early).
Senior Portraits will be October at 8:30
Make up for Senior portraits, faculty, and students will be November 28 at 8:30

4. YB
The Yellow Jacket yearbooks are in. Please see someone in room 100 if you did not get yours. A limited number of extras is available for $60.

FCA gatherings on 7:50 in the auditorium. Donuts' will be provided. All students are welcome to join. Students need to get a pass from coach Fyke in room E3 if interested in attending

6. ACT Workshop
The August/September ACT workshop has been rescheduled to Oct 14 and 21.

7. Scholarship Essay
The D.A.R. sponsored Christopher Columbus Essay Contest is accepting submissions. Deadline is Monday, October 16 by 2 p.m. This is a national competition that awards a $1200 national scholarship and cash prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. Essay guidelines and specifics are located at the front desk. Please see Ms. Tedder if you have further questions.

8. NHD
NHD is holding our first fundraiser of the year with 2 styles of t shirts both in short or long sleeve. Shirts come in black or gray. All funds raised help NHD participate in the state contest in March at USM and the national contest in June at the University of Maryland/Washington DC.

9. PSAT
The PSAT will be given at SHS October 11, The cost is $ To be eligible for the National Merit Scholarship Program, you must take the PSAT/NMSQT.

10. Senior Maid
Make sure to bring your id for lunch each day this week to vote for homecoming queen

11. Speech and Debate
The Speech and Debate team will compete in the Stennis Novice Tournament at Mississippi State University on Friday (9/22).

12. JROTC
JROTC will travel to Terry to participate in the Terry High School Drill Meet on Saturday (9/23).

13. Sports

14. Football JV plays at Tupelo Thursday (9/21)
Varsity will play at Provine this Friday night.

15. Faculty Student Basketball
The 3rd annual faculty/student basketball game will take place on Monday, September 25 during 4th block to kick off Homecoming week! Tickets are $3 and will be sold  in your 4th Block starting tomorrow.

16. Cross Country
Cross Country travels to Clinton this Saturday for Clinton Arrow Invitational (9/23).

17. Volleyball Volleyball will face Grace Christian Today (9/19).
JV starts at 5:30 and varsity will follow at 6:30.
Thursday they will travel to Heritage Academy to face the Patriots.
JV starts at 5:00 and varsity starts at 6:00

18. Swim
On Saturday (9/23), the Jackets will travel to Oxford to participate in the Oxford Invitational.
