1 Unit 2 Menu Choices UNITED STATES
Landform Cube: Fill the 6 sides with information about your landform. Write your answers in complete sentences. Use textbook pages and encyclopedias. Questions to answer: What region of the United States is this landform located in? What states can this landform be found in? Give measurements. How long (miles) is the river or mountain range? How many lakes make up the Great Lakes? What are the names of the lakes? Why is this physical feature important to the United States? What are some of the tallest peaks in the mountain range? What are their names? Draw, outline, and color a picture of your landform on one side of the cube. Regions Poster: Use a sheet of white paper to list 10 pieces of information about a region of the United States. Write your information in complete sentences. Use textbook pages Title your poster with the name of your region. Put a colorful border about your poster. Draw, outline, and color at least 2 pictures that show something about your region. Tell what kind of physical features are found there (rivers, lakes, mountains, plains, etc.) Tell what kind of climate the region has. Tell what kind of natural resources this region has to offer (coal, rich soil, etc.) Tell about the economy. What kind of industries do they have (dairy, steel, fishing, etc.) List some of the major cities located here. How many people live in this region?

Tourist Brochure. Write your answers in complete sentences. Use textbook pages , and internet. Questions to answer: What Provinces are in Canada? (pages ) Describe the Physical Geography of Canada? (Pages ) Slogan for your Brochure Colored illustration on the cover Why would people want to come to Canada (or your province)? What is the history and culture? (pages ) What are your major cities? What is the climate like? Venn-Diagram: Use the textbook (Chapters 6 and 7) Compare and Contrast the United States and Canada (How are they similar or different) Physical Features: What landforms do the share? What landforms are unique to each country? Climate: How are the temperatures, precipitation the same or different? Natural Resources: Do they have the same natural resources? What resources just found in the U.S. or Canada? Economy: What kind of industries do they have? What kind of goods are traded? What are the major exports or imports. Government: What form of government do they have? How are they similar?

Fact Cards. Write your answers in complete sentences. Use textbook pages ( Mexico and pages for Central America and the Caribbean) and internet. Questions to answer: (pictures should be colored) 1st Card: (Title Card) include your country name and picture of flag 2nd Card: (Landforms/Physical Features) 3 facts and include one illustration 3rd Card: (History) 3 facts about history and include one illustration 4th Card: (Culture) 3 facts and include one illustration 5th Card: (Economy) What crops or industries are in your country? GDP- Wealth, also include an illustration 6th Card: (Government) What form of government? Who’s the current leader? (Illustration) Greeting Card Draw a large picture on the front of your card. (Color and outline) Your message to your friend needs to be 4 paragraphs describing the culture

Acrostic Poem. Write the name of the country in capital letters vertically on the page. Use the letters in the country name to write descriptive sentences about your country. These must be complete sentences. The sentences could cover such topics as: physical features, culture, history, government, cities, regions, economy, and current events. Add a decorative border to your page. (use color) Add one colored illustration on your paper Windowpane. Divide a piece of paper into six squares. Choose a country in South America to research Each box should have a picture about your country. The sentence in the box should describe what your picture is about Color the pictures The pictures and sentences could cover such topics as: physical features, culture, history, government, cities, regions, economy, and current events
