14 Sponsor Areas for improvement: Great early work! One area of emphasis for the team in the upcoming term is to focus on practical results as opposed to a pure "white paper" / abstract study. We'd like to see a clear deliverable with quantifiable analytical guidance (proven through test results) on new designs as the end product. Areas for improvement: They are doing a great job of concentrating on the vital issues, but they should also ensure that they are not losing sight of the minor outstanding issues that could become surprises later in the schedule. Areas for improvement: This team has both strong technical skills and as well as good team dynamics. They have great communication skills as well as being vigilant to suggestions for making improvement.

15 Sponsor "Areas for improvement: This is a team of capable group of students that have successfully identified the roles and responsibility of each member based on strength. However, they lack communication skills along with effective presentation. In many instances they have not communicated their challenges and went in tangent until much later on where they ran into a complete wall. Also, their presentations need major improvement in terms of fluidity, message and conciseness." Comments/Action plan: (1) better communicate their challenges and don't hesitate to consult with their advisor and sponsor. (2) read upon effective presentation (3) make use of project management tools such as microsoft project and other chart making tools for more effective way of representing their work. Areas for improvement: I understand that the students are busy with classes, homework, projects, etc. However, I find it difficult getting responses to s about progress, scheduling phone meetings, etc.

16 Sponsor Areas for improvement: A lot of good work has been done in trying to determine the proper xxxx and heat source. Be careful not to fall behind in designing the rig. There are other rig components that need to be designed. Comments/Action plan: Utilize as much as possible from last years team such as the test run program steps and modify as needed for you rig tests. A lot of upfront work is needed to insure you get quality data…………………….. . Areas for improvement: All the team members realize they need to improve in the areas of: planning, coordination and communication. Comments/Action plan: The pace is only going to increase once the team starts the actual construction of the rig. There will be challenges in analysis and communication that the team will have to step up to.

17 Sponsor Areas for improvement: ……………….. Rig design progressing OK. Progress towards obtaining rig materials and building rig seems slow. I would expect to see an initial bill of materials soon (eg. instrumentation). Holiday time is fast approaching! Comments/Action plan: …………………Concentrate on getting analysis modeled completed and getting a rig parts/pricing list completed. What can be used "as is" from last year? what has to be modified? what new parts & instrumentation will be needed? Need to start thinking about making a test run plan - there is much to do to with the rig before it is ready to take quality data. Including a previous data point in your test plan will be a good validation test point for your rig.

18 Sponsor Areas for improvement: Planning - Team had a good understanding of deadline, but struggled with breaking that down to smaller sub steps………………. Areas for improvement: The weekly status reports the team has been putting together are marginal at best. We feel the students are not truly engaged. It seems like they have decided to use the XXXXXX code from last year's team as is and are not really thinking about how to improve it. After Nov 16th call we don't think they understand it. It's more of a plug in some numbers and look at the output. ….. it doesn't seem to me that they have really accomplished much since November 2nd….. Their weekly reports do not demonstrate a lot of energy or enthusiasm. When this team are not able to get results immediately they seem to get discouraged rather than energized to solve the problem.

19 Faculty Areas for improvement: Need to get some work done and actually demonstrate some progress. All Seem to contribute equally. Unfortunately the effort level seems relatively low. They need to dig in, get going, and deliver some engineering solutions (with quantitative analysis)! Attendance is great. Communication is poor. They need to speak and write more like professionals. Areas for improvement: Need to get some actual results. Little progress on measurement, better understanding of XXXXX concept.

20 Faculty Areas for improvement: ….. the team has had access to last year's rig for two months and haven't done anything with it yet. I would have expected them to try to reproduce some old data by now, which I've mentioned a few times, but it hasn't been accomplished yet. Comments/Action plan: I tasked them to get back to me with SOME equations and hard numbers as starting point but have not seen anything. I'd give them C- Areas for improvement: Team XX had some trouble scheduling a meeting time at the beginning of the semester, but since we've begun meeting regularly, they have made good progress on the project. I'm looking forward to seeing the data they generate next semester. Comments/Action plan: This team is excellent. I participated in several meetings at XXX with them and industry advisor YYY. This team is very collaborative and has excellent problem solving skills.

21 Student Areas for improvement: We need to make sure that we use team meeting times as efficiently as possible because we have a large .. group and only have a couple times a week where we can all meet. Comments/Action plan: Out of the three ME students on this project I am doing a little less work than X and Y. I need to start making sure that we split tasks and deliverables evenly so we can better distribute the work load. Areas for improvement: I believe that we as a team can work together better if we all commit effort to all tasks. It is challenging when each of us have a certain task to do the other people do other work. It gets frustrating when one person does all the work for one piece, while another person does homework for another class. The balance of work could be better distributed.

22 Student Areas for improvement: We need to work on our organization, setting specific goals and setting deadlines. We need to do more technical design analysis. Comments/Action plan: Have more regular contact with our sponsor to keep us on track. Set more specific design goals for scheduling so we keep making consistent progress.
