Common nouns – general nouns that are not capitalized Proper nouns – specific nouns that name something and they are capitalized

Example As the theme park and a huge ride came into view, he suddenly felt butterflies. As Adventure City, with its Corkscrew Coaster came into view, John suddenly felt butterflies. When writing narratives, include proper nouns. You can use proper nouns that already exist or you can make up your own.

Proper Noun Capitalization Rules
Capitalize all people’s names including initials, and title with person’s name. Capitalize all specific places including directions that are a specific place. Capitalize all names of organizations and companies. Capitalize the names of the days of the week and months (do not capitalize seasons).
