Here’s What Drives Us
ONCE largely limited to poor women and minorities, single motherhood is now becoming the new “norm.”
Of all single-parent families in the U.S., single mothers make up the majority – according to the U.S. Census Bureau, about 12 million single-parent families in 2014, more than 80% were headed by single mothers.
Single mothers often spend over half of their income on housing expenses and one third on childcare, leaving them with less money for educational expenses.
Without financial aid, single mother students have little to no means to contribute financially to their educational expenses.
With a postsecondary education, single mothers become more marketable in the job market and have a greater chance of reaching financial success.

WE have put a lot of work into developing a program where single moms can enjoy the opportunities that higher education can provide, along with additional giveaways and prospects that may enhance the busy (and sometimes) stressful single mom life. You making this donation will:

CONVERT members of the HFSM community into loyal Birchbox consumers

Tailored Birchboxes
Creative co-branded campaign for social media with opt-in (collaborative)
We’ll provide:
Social media & web marketing (to advertise partnership and signups), along with input for an e-campaign, in which Birchbox subscriptions will be encouraged.
Blogging and other content-based marketing about Birchbox and the partnership.
Our Goal:
To provide 100 tailored Birchboxes to single moms by May 2016, coining the program Mayflowers.
