What did Martin Luther King believe in?
Ending segregation and discrimination and fighting for the right to vote. Improving the lives of the poor. Use of non-violence even when attacked, ‘Love thy neighbour’. Peaceful protests, marches, speeches and demonstrations. Civil disobedience – breaking the law, but without violence. ‘Filling the jails’ Use of the Bible to guide the protestors. Mobilisation of public opinion. TV and radio to gain support.
