Rimza Afzal Freshman Electrical Engineering
I’ve gained a lot of basic understanding of different aspects of electrical engineering, like programming. This course has helped me confirm that this is what I’d like to continue to do in the future. My plans and goals for UF are to graduate in about 5 years with a decent GPA and go to grad school after. I would also like to get more involved in research while here. I hope to one day become an Electrical Engineer. My words of wisdom to incoming freshman is to not let other people dictate how you want your college career to go. Get involved in things you like to do and don’t think about anyone else.

Doug Plowman Sophomore’ Exploratory Engineering
I gained insight into the world of Electrical Engineering. I learned about things like circuits and LEDs and how they function. This course gave me a general understanding of all things electrical. Graduate with some sort of Engineering degree. Get a well-paying job that I enjoy In the wise words of Lil Wayne, “I always believe that to be the best, you have to smell like the best, dress like the best, act like the best. When you throw your trash in the garbage can, it has to be better than anybody else who ever threw trash in the garbage can.”

Lisdelys Garcia Freshman Biomedical Engineering
1/2 Freshman Biomedical Engineering I’ve gain a basic understanding of the mechanism and techniques used in modern appliances. Circuits, processors, oscillators, “Digital Logic” 4/1 program with Electrical Engineering Introduction to material and nature of work. Fun and novel learning experience. I plan to get more involved with gator robotics and interesting groups on campus.

Lisdelys Garcia 2/2 I would want to apply ECE concepts to BME in order to create a device to improve sensory perception and limit neurological degeneration. Words of Wisdom: Find a balance in life. Success is nothing if you have no one to share it with or time to enjoy yourself.

Robot Story It’s the 2012 London Quiddich Olympics and the Booze Cruisers are the favorite to win. With the best seeker in the world riding the fastest broom out there, The Nimbus 2003, there is no way any other team can get the championship this year. The teams are neck and neck and it is all up to the seekers to end the game and declare a winner. The Booze Cruiser’s seeker has spotted the snitch and is on the move. The Nimbus 2003 moves left, then right and continues to follow the speeding snitch and dodging any bludger that is coming at it. With a final turn underground, the Nimbus 2003 has caught up to the snitch and Booze Cruisers have won the Gold!!

Conclusion We gained a general understanding of what electrical engineers do. We learned about different things that electrical engineers have to work with, such as LED circuits and auditory frequency generators. We got a first hand experience working with programming robots and sensors.

Words of Wisdom Word of wisdom to pass on to the next group of students would be to follow “Occam’s Razor,” which states "when you have two competing theories that make exactly the same predictions, the simpler one is the better."
