Grace Fellowship Church
Pastor/Teacher - Jim Rickard Tuesday, July 23, 2013 Title Page Below are some simple instructions on how to use this template: 1. You can change the text in the graphical screen above or in the outline area to the left. 2. There is one default background that is indicated by “ ” .This slide acts as a space or a blank screen, use to clear or blank the screen. If you have a large graphic such as a map you could also use this screen. If you insert a new slide you will get this default background. 3. The first five slides have the other backgrounds for the set. To use more than one of these background types in your presentation highlight the one you wish to use and choose copy from the edit menu. Paste this slide where you want it to appear in your presentation, then change the text on this new slide. By copy/pasting the slide in this manor you will keep the background, text formatting and the customized animation from that slide. By using the copy/paste method you find it saves you time and keeps a consistent look through out your presentation. 4.There are a few additional notes written in the slide text wording that may be helpful. Note: We are working on a website that in the future will provide help topics on using sermon outlines in PowerPoint as well as provide sermon templates similar to this one. Check for more information.

5. A loving relationship with the Lord, Vs 17. “Wisdom” loves those whose love compels them to seek her.

“Love” - AHEB, אָהֵב, is an essence of God; every action of God is an outcome of His love.

Since “wisdom” is the thinking of God applied to life, every outcome of wisdom also results in love realized in your life.

Mat 6:33-34, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Cf. 1 Cor 3:11-14

“Diligently seek” - SHACHAR, שָׁחַר “Seeking wisdom” is the path to righteous living and reward, Prov 11:27.

Prov 11:27, “He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who seeks evil, evil will come to him.”

Those who do not diligently and honestly seek “wisdom” will not find her, Prov 1:28, nor righteousness and reward, Prov 8: Cf. 1 Sam. 2:30; 2 Sam 22:26; Psa 18:26.

6. Spiritual and material blessings, Vs
6. Spiritual and material blessings, Vs. 18 – Logistical Grace Blessings. Cf. Prov 3:16

Four Blessings 1) “Riches”, OSHER, עשֶׁר 2) “Honor”, KABOD, כָּבוֹד 3) “Enduring wealth”, ATHEQ HON, עָתֵק, הוֹן 4) “Righteousness”, TSEDAQAH, צְדָקָה

1) “Riches” God blesses the righteous and the diligent with riches and wealth, Psa 112:3.

Psa 112:3, “Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever.”

The wise man considers himself wealthy because of his wisdom, Prov 10:4; 14:24.

Prov 10:4, “Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.”

Prov 14:24, “The crown of the wise is their riches, but the folly of fools is foolishness.”

It is a reward for the humble, Prov 22:4, “The reward of humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, honor and life.”

Being humble is freedom from pride and arrogance and independence from human power.

Prov 15:33, “The fear of the LORD is the instruction for wisdom, and before honor comes humility.”

2) “Honor” The idea of “honor, respect, renown or glory” of your reputation and person. Cf. Gen 45:13; Prov 3:35.

Honor before the Lord and man, having a good reputation in the eyes of both, so far as it depends on you. Mat 25:21, 23; Luke 19:17; Rom 12:18

3) “Enduring wealth” Surpassing or eminent wealth or sufficiency

2 Cor 9:8, “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.”

The proper balance toward humanistic wealth is expressed in the wise man’s prayer of Prov 30:8-10.
