DAVID "HUGHESY" HUGHES, IS AN AUSTRALIAN STAND-UP COMEDIAN, AND A RADIO AND TELEVISION PRESENTER. HE IS KNOWN FOR HIS LARRIKIN PERSONALITY, DRAWLING AUSTRALIAN ACCENT, AND DEADPAN COMEDIC DELIVERY.
After dreaming about being a comedian since he was a youngster, his first comedy gig came at age 22 when he was living in Perth. Six months later he became the headline act. Hughesy is now a regular performer at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival
Hughesy is also a well recognized television personality. He has had guest spots on television programs The Fat, Rove Live, The Panel, Thank God You’re Here, Spicks and Specks and more recently, as a regular panel member of The Project.
In 2001, Hughesy joined comedians Kate Langbroek and Dave O’Neil to co-host a weekday breakfast program Hughesy, Kate and Dave on Melbourne’s Nova The show ran with Hughesy & Kate for 12 years, entertaining audiences all over Melbourne.
Joining the KIIS Network in 2015, Hughesy & Kate began their drive home on Tuesday 27th January bringing their entertaining, warm and honest brand of radio to a national audience. Their national Drive show is heard all around 5 capital cities, 4-6pm weekdays.
2015 has also seen Hughesy join the team on Channel 9’s The AFL Footy Show and touring his live comedy show , Pumped, right around Australia.
