Open CD’s when they arrive to ensure that you have access to the information on the burned onto the CD.

Read the Institutional Report thoroughly and complete the planning instrument, but do not feel obligated to spend more than 2 or 3 hours prior to the visit reviewing the institution’s exhibits.

Reviewing Electronic Exhibits
Some institutions post as many as 1,000 documents on their websites. It is not possible or necessary for BOE members to read every document posted in these cases. See the list of suggested documents posted on the NCATE website for a listing of key documents.

Reviewing Electronic Exhibits
The institution will be asked to provide an orientation to the website at the beginning of the visit and an index of the documents on the website. BOE members should mark the documents that they review.

Do not request that the institution print all of the on-line exhibits. Here are some tips for reviewing on-line exhibits: If reading the documents is a problem, consider enlarging the size of the print If you need to see more than one document at a time, consider using the functions under “Window” to put the documents side-by-side on the screen. If you want to mark a certain place because critical information is there, consider using the “bookmark” feature or the highlight feature in Microsoft Word.
