6 Work stream scope descriptions (1/2)
Medtech The Medtech work stream scope includes and interacts with organizations that are involved in developing, manufacturing and servicing solutions (software & hardware & services) used inside care facilities; such as hospitals, clinics, elderly care facilities and dental clinics. This stream focuses on solutions, IPRs or goods used mainly by healthcare professionals and providers. The work stream is closely connected to work stream Internet of care and output of the work stream will be coordinated with other streams. Internet of care The Internet of care work stream scope includes and engages organizations developing, manufacturing and servicing solutions (software & hardware & services) used mainly outside of care facilities, by professional and non-professional end users (consumers). These technologies include, but are not limited to, remote monitoring devices and apps, virtual appointment and service solutions, patients flow management, wearables, assisted living solutions, other consumer health related goods, as well as, data bases, related communication and data services and IPRs, in the purpose of improving customer’s possibility to avoid physical visits to and stays at care facilities, and improving their health and wellness. Stream’s scope also includes organizations that utilize the generated information for diagnosis, care instructions and disease management. This work stream is closely connected to Medtech and its outputs will be coordinated with other streams.

Public The Public work stream scope includes activating all essential public organizations having a connection to the common goal of the project. Broadly this means e.g. ministries and other government departments, Finnvera, Sitra, Tekes, Finpro, Academy of Finland, FiHTA, FIMEA, Biobanks, universities, university hospitals and hospital districts. Essential goal for the Public stream is to enhance collaboration between these organizations. The expectations for the Public work stream is to act as an enabler and foster stronger enabler thinking in the public sector. The Public work stream has a wide interface with all the other work streams. Services Services work stream involves a wide range of private and public service providers in the areas of primary and secondary health care, elderly and other social care, education and technology based services. Business opportunities are assessed separately for services where the customers travel to Finland to receive care and when services are exported abroad. Services work stream is closely connected with the public services and med tech work streams Pharma The Pharma workstream scope includes all organizations that are involved in developing, manufacturing and distributing pharmaceutical and biotechnology products in Finland. Broadly this means e.g. big pharmas, Finnish pharmaceuticals, Finnish biotech companies, industry organizations and distributors. The expectations for the pharma workstream are to i) identify key tangible strengths of the Finnish pharmaceutical research and Finnish biotech, ii) analyze their global positioning and iii) identify key steps in global road-to- market
