3 INTRODUCTION A volcano is a rupture in the crust of a planetary-mass object, such as Earth, that allows hot lava, volcanic ash, and gases to escape from a magma chamber below the surface. Earth's volcanoes occur because its crust is broken into 17 major, rigid tectonic plates that float on a hotter, softer layer in its mantle

4 PARTS OF VOLCANO Magma chamber Vent Crater Lava flow
There are different parts in volcano. We will see some parts of the volcano, they are:- Magma chamber Vent Crater Lava flow

6 Magma Chamber A reservoir of magma within the earth's crust beneath a volcano is called as magma chamber.

7 Vent The magma chamber is a collection of magma inside the Earth, below the volcano. The main vent is the main outlet for the magma to escape. Secondary vents are smaller outlets through which magma escapes.

8 Crater A volcanic crater is a roughly circular depression in the ground caused by volcanic activity. It is typically a bowl-shaped feature within which occurs a vent or vents. During volcanic eruptions, molten magma and volcanic gases rise from an underground magma chamber, through a tube-shaped conduit, until they reach the crater's vent, from where the gases escape into the atmosphere and the magma is erupted a lava.

10 Lava Flow Lava flows are the least hazardous of all processes in volcanic eruptions. How far a lava flow travels depends on the flows temperature, silica content, extrusion rate, and slope of the land. A cold lava flow will not travel far and neither will one that has a high silica content.

11 Different types of volcanoes
There are 4 major types of volcanoes: Cinder Cone Volcanoes Composite Volcanoes Shield Volcanoes Lava Domes
