Quantification of clinical vaccinia keratitis. Infected eyes were examined daily by slit lamp and scored according to a modification of the MacDonald-Shadduck Scoring System (Table 1). (A) Severity of corneal opacity. (B) Percentage of corneal surface with stromal cloudiness. (C) Percentage of corneal surface staining positive for epithelial disruption with fluorescein.
