Warm-Up 1/22 It costs $15 for a yearly membership to a movie club. A movie ticket costs $5 for club members and $8 for non-members. Write 2 equations to represent the cost (y) for a member to purchase (x) number of movie tickets and the cost (y) for a non-member to purchase (x) number of movie tickets.

Objective: You will be able to write a system of linear equations from a problem situation and determine the solution to that system using a graph.

Opening It costs $15 for a yearly membership to a movie club at a movie theater. A movie ticket costs $5 for club members and $8 for nonmembers. Write two equations to represent cost for a member and a non-member. Make a table of values showing cost of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 movies. Graph the system of equations. Under what circumstances does it make sense to become a movie club member? Explain your answer by using the graph and the table.
