4. Stage 1: Define the Problem
This is a simple problem with no details.
Example:
Span Blocks with card stock

5. Define the Problem cont’d
Design constraints; Limitations on the conditions under which a system is developed.
Paper Bridge Constraints:
Use 2 wooden cubes
Support entire x 11in card stock
No paper can touch table
Blocks at table height
Can modify card stock
Materials in final design are 2 blocks and card stock
Farthest blocks will be the best design
