Successful grant proposals: Address a significant issue for both the applicant and the funder (defines the project’s goal) Show an innovative and well supported approach to addressing that issue Describe reasonable and measureable objectives, and a detailed work plan to achieve them Include a plan to evaluate the project’s success Include a clear and accurate budget Assure the funder that the applicant is capable of success Developing Your Grant Proposal Idea

Cultivating Buy-In and Commitment Before you spend a lot of time developing a project idea, you need both buy-in and commitment from potential partners and from LCC Buy-in is accepting an idea and, possibly, agreeing with it Commitment is more emotionally impelled; both head and heart want to support or join something The difference between the two might make all the difference in your success. Developing a project idea: Documentation Gather information that supports project need: Quantitative (LCC data, outside data, reports, studies) Qualitative (student, employee, and community stories, questionnaires, surveys) These can also help develop your project evaluation plan Developing Your Grant Proposal Idea
