This Upcoming Week:
OK PARENTS: This is where the fun and hard work begins.
We will learn an uppercase and lowercase letter a week,
what sound it makes, and how to form both the letters
correctly. Next week we will learn the letters A and a, and
their sounds, and how to form them correctly. We also
learn how to listen for that sound at the beginning of words.
We also will learn a number a week. We will learn to
recognize that number when we see it, how to form a set
of that many items, and how to write the number. Next
week’s number is 1. We will usually have a
“theme” for each week. This week’s theme
is apples. Please reinforce these things at
home by doing homework, listening to songs
and rhymes we do at school, and talking to
your child about what he or she learned that
day.

Walk To School T-Shirts
Look in your handbook for a detailed description
of what walk to school day is all about.
No official date has been set yet for this
event, but we always have tshirts for the
event. The order forms came home last
Thursday. They are due back by Wednesday,
Sept. 13.
HOMEWORK .
The other PreK teachers and I have decided
to send homework home Mon.-Thurs. nights.
This is not required , but is great reinforcement
for our skills. If your child brings his or her
homework back completed, he or she will
get a treat: sticker, gummy bear, etc.
