Introduction: Audit of any functioning service helps to know the outcome of the care and the place of further improvement. We did a retrospective audit of our ICU service to know the efficacy of our care and place of further refinement.
Aims: To see the outcome of existing service and to see scope of further improvement further based on those outcomes.
Methods: A retrospective audit was conducted of our 5 bedded ICU in This included the number of patients admitted, source of admission, successful outcome, ventilated patients, transfer to other hospitals, and mortality. We also did bit of comparison on those outcome data with previous 10 years to see where we stand.
Conclusion: Our retrospective audit showed bit higher increase in admission of septic patients with higher ventilatory days, but the mortality remained more or less same. Length of ventilation days increased.
