Systemic Sclerosis Criteria
2
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) criteria
Patients are said to have Systemic Sclerosis (SSc) by ACR criteria if they have: the one major criterion, or 2 of the 3 minor criteria
3
Systemic sclerosis criteria
Major criterion: Proximal scleroderma
4
Thick skin of fingers and hands (proximal scleroderma)
5
Thick skin of forearms (proximal scleroderma)
6
(proximal scleroderma)
Thick skin of torso (proximal scleroderma)
7
Thick skin of face (proximal scleroderma)
8
Atrophic (thin) skin changes of face (proximal scleroderma)
9
Systemic sclerosis criteria
Major criterion: Minor criteria: Proximal scleroderma Sclerodactyly
10
Sclerodactyly (early puffy fingers)
11
Taut, thick skin of fingers
12
Taut, thin skin of fingers
13
Systemic sclerosis criteria
Major criterion: Minor criteria: Proximal scleroderma Sclerodactyly Digital pitting scar
14
Digital tip pitting scars
15
Systemic sclerosis criteria
Major criterion: Minor criteria: (2 of the 3) Proximal scleroderma Sclerodactyly Digital pitting scar Interstitial change on chest x-ray
16
Interstitial change (x-ray)

Systemic sclerosis (SSc) criteria
Patients are said to have Systemic Sclerosis by ACR criteria if they have: one major criterion or 2 of the 3 minor criteria LeRoy & Medsger have suggested two additional criteria to diagnose mild SSc: Raynaud’s phenomenon (plus both): nailfold capillary abnormalities SSc-specific antibodies (anti-centromere, anti-SCL-70, anti-PM-Scl, etc)
