One of five colleges in the North Harris Montgomery Community College District, Montgomery College has a fall 2007 student population of 9,200; 2,400 are in developmental math

First Semester: Spring ‘03 • Create measurable outcomes • Train faculty on software and project • Pilot with a few sections • Initiate survey for students and faculty Second Year: Fall ’04-Spring ‘05 • Pilot a larger group 30/33 voluntary participation • Establish a welcoming environment for students • Provide training and communication Third Year Fall ’05-Spring ‘06 • District mandates outcome assessment of some type • All developmental sections participate • Develop additional training and communication • Create shared ownership Fourth Year: Fall ’06-Present Baker, (2005) League for Innovation. 5 Successes Montgomery College Developmental enrollments are constant.
College-level enrollments have increased. Calculus enrollments have increased. Students who take our outcomes courses are retained at a significantly higher percentage than those who don’t. Math Outcomes Lab
