Example: Force on a moving charge
A particle with charge x 10-8 C is moving with velocity v= 4.19 x 104 m/s i x 104 m/s j . What is the force exerted on this particle by a magnetic field B = 1.4 T i ? ^ ^ ^ From 27.1 in text.

Example: Electron in a uniform B field
An electron, starting at rest, is accelerated by a potential difference of 400 volts. Find the speed of the electron, v. The electron enters a uniform magnetic field with magnitude B, moving in a direction perpendicular to the magnetic field. Find the radius of the orbit, R, of the electron in terms of e, B, me, and v.
