2 Casualty Figures: as of 15:00, 23 April 2017

3 Radiological Accident
BATAN continues to monitoring radiation leak and has advised that, if radiation levels rise, the evacuation zones should be expanded to 3 km (mandatory) and 5 km (voluntary) around PSTA. The Government of Yogyakarta requested assistance from the National Government in responding to the PSTA radiological accident. TNI and responding MPAT Nations are requested to support with evacuation and relocation plans and operations if the evacuation zones are expanded. Evacuation site is proposed at Military Academy in Magelang City.

4 Central Java: Boyolali Regency as of 23 April 2017
1,087 dead, 8,665 injured, 105,150 displaced. Having reviewed its Mt. Merapi eruption plan, local government will need assistance in transporting displaced persons to Surakarta area (Manahan Stadium), if evacuation is necessary Roadway access remains a concern. Bridge is being repaired

5 Central Java: Klaten Regency as of 23 April 2017
1,320 dead, 10,523 injured, 127,696 displaced. Displaced gathering in Klaten City or moving towards Yogyakarta City. Highway of Yogya-Solo still have lanes closed in some sections due to damage. Road repair are beginning to focus on secondary streets. Having reviewed its Mt. Merapi eruption plan, local government will need assistance in transporting displaced persons to east part of the regency or to neighboring Sukoharjo Regency, if evacuation is necessary

6 Central Java: Magelang Regency as of 23 April 2017
138 dead, 1,101 injured, 13,360 displaced. Having reviewed its Mt. Merapi eruption plan, local government will need assistance in transporting displaced persons to Magelang or Yogyakarta Cities, if evacuation is necessary Magelang-Yogya Highway is being repaired, with some sections continue to have restricted access due to damage or debris Related PSTA accident, concern remains over radiation particles reaching the regency.

7 Central Java: Purworejo Regency as of 23 April 2017
813 dead, 6,476 injured, 78,584 displaced, which gather in Purworejo City. Portions of the Purworejo-Wates Highway towards Djagalaja, and the Deandels Highway near Djagalaja remain closed due to surface damage. Railway lines southeast of Muntilan remain closed for assessment and repairs.

8 DIY: Yogyakarta City as of 23 April 2017
466 dead, 3,716 injured, 45,099 displaced. Assessments, repair and debris removal on roadways within Yogyakarta City continues. Due to PSTA accident, Yogyakarta City officials implemented the order for the voluntary evacuation of all persons within 3 km of PTSA within Yogyakarta City. The city is outside of the 2 km mandatory evacuation zone. Relocation of patients of Happy Land Hospital is to be determined. The local government will require assistance in transporting displaced persons from the evacuation zones. Appropriate relocation sites for persons displaced or secondarily displaced due to the radiological accident are being assessed.

9 DIY: Bantul Regency as of 23 April 2017
1,094 dead, 8,717 injured, 105,778 displaced. Displaced traveling towards Yogyakarta City. Should Mt. Merapi eruption evacuation order is issued, local government may need assistance from the TNI and support from MPAT Nations. Tentative evacuation sites are in Imogiri areas, including Mojohuro soccer field In relation to PSTA accident, local government issued mandatory evacuation within 2 km and voluntary evacuation within 3 km.

10 DIY: Gunung Kidul Regency as of 23 April 2017
810 dead, 6,459 injured and 78,377 displaced. Local government may need assistance for infrastructure of their evacuation sites in Wonosari and Semaru, as well as transporting relief supplies. Some section of highways are damaged and being repaired, but outside radiological evacuation zones

11 DIY: Kulon Progo Regency as of 23 April 2017
467 dead, 3,718 injured, 45,116 displaced. Local government may need assistance from the TNI, and support from MPAT Nations, with the evacuation, especially if the Jalan Nanggulan-Mendut Highway is closed due to Mt. Merapi eruption Most roadways are closed or have limited accessibility due to damage and debris.

12 DIY: Sleman Regency as of 23 April 2017
1,312 dead, 10,453 injured, 126,853 displaced. In relation to PSTA accident, local government issued mandatory evacuation within 2 km and voluntary evacuation within 3 km. Should the evacuation zones are expanded, Should the evacuation zone be expanded, assistance from TNI with support from responding MPAT Nations is expected. Assistance also expected for evacuation of hospitals’ patients and evacuation of population due to Mt. Merapi eruptions to Yogyakarta
