3 Explosive Trends 24 APRIL: GRAND ISLAND, NE – EXPLOSION
". . . was demonstrating how his powder would "flash". Suspect placed unknown quantity of an unknown powder in a cup, inserted hobby fuse and lit fuse. Powder initiated with bright "flash" and initiated a second and possibly third container of unknown powder which detonated During the investigation, precursor chemicals and materials were recovered for the manufacturing of M-Series Illegal Explosive Devices. Also recovered on the outside of the building were two improvised "lift charges" cups indicating homemade aerial shells were discharged in the area."

4 Explosive Trends A total of 400 bombing incidents were reported in Of those 178 targeted residences. Additionally there were 6 bombings of churches, 6 school bombings,and 12 incidents targeting businesses or offices.

2-5 explosion events. 50 IED incidents were the IED is rendered safe. 25-30 suspicious package incidents. Of those 5-8 are hoax devices.

Explosive Trends San Bernardino Shooting On December 2, 2015, 14 people were killed and 22 were seriously injured in a terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California, which consisted of a mass shooting and an attempted bombing.

On September 17, at about 9:30 a.m., a pipe bomb exploded in a trash can along the route of a United States Marine Corps charity run in Seaside Park. No one was injured.

On September 17, at about 8:30 p.m., a homemade pressure cooker bomb exploded on West 23rd Street in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. Thirty-one civilians were injured, 24 of whom were taken to the hospital. A second pressure cooker bomb, with wires and a mobile phone attached, was discovered by authorities on West 27th Street, four blocks away. Late on September 18, multiple bombs were discovered inside a suspicious package at the Elizabeth train station. One of those bombs detonated early the next day during the police investigation, and no injuries were reported.
