A bit about me… I qualified with a PGDE in Primary Education from the University of Aberdeen earlier this year, having previously worked as a registered staff nurse within NHS Grampian. Prior to nursing, I worked as a pupil support assistant in Moray. I have a keen interest in health and wellbeing, and enjoy running in my spare time. I also enjoy baking, spending time with family and friends and reading.

Positive Behaviour Management
Aim to promote atmosphere of respect and responsibility. Golden Rules: We are gentle. We don’t hurt others. We are kind and helpful. We don’t hurt anybody’s feelings. We listen. We don’t interrupt. We are honest. We don’t cover up the truth. We work hard. We don’t waste our own or others’ time. We look after property. We don’t waste or damage things. We actively promote positive behaviour through reward systems including house points (Dunnydeer, Williamston, Drumrossie, Bennachie) and Class Dojo points.

Term 1 Our topic is WW2 - we are looking to link a number of academic and creative projects to link with this topic. Learners have recently created newspaper reports, demonstrating their knowledge of the start of WW2. We are currently working through non-chronological WW2 reports. Learners are in the process of conducting research into an area of personal interest. We are hoping to create our own clothing pieces, linked to the ‘Make Do and Mend’ slogan of WW2. We hope to demonstrate our creations in a P7 fashion show. **MS THURSDAY HWB WONDER BOUNCEBACK**

Term 1 Depute head teacher Mrs. Stirling will be working with P7MS weekly – usually a Thursday. Mrs. Stirling will be covering curricular areas including Health and Wellbeing, French and Mathematics. P7MS will also be working through a literacy study of the book ‘Wonder’ with Mrs. Stirling.

Term 1 In maths we are looking at number sense and place value.
We’ll be practising problem solving and calculations. Work is differentiated to ensure learners are appropriately challenged.
12
Term 1 In Literacy and English, we will be creating texts relevant to our topic and in areas of interest identified by the learners. We have created newspaper reports and are currently working on non-chronological reports. We will be reviewing grammar and punctuation basics. We follow a whole school reading skills strategy and have ‘in class’ reading books to develop our reading skills. For the most part, learners will be encouraged to choose texts of personal interest for homework reading tasks.
13
Homework Details of Homework: Hand out Monday, return Friday.
Will usually have a spelling/reading/maths focus – may change depending on projects we are working on in class. Aim to make homework as relevant and reasonable as possible. You can use your homework diary or Class Dojo if any concerns.
