Berrynarbor SCHOOL NEWSLETTER May 2017 Summer Fayre Cancelled event
Blueberry Class have done some fantastic writing about Anglo-Saxons. They represented our school and federation brilliantly at a recent Tag Rugby Tournament when one of the federation teams won the plate. The next half of the term is a busy one with Bikeability, Reunion, an exciting Geography project fort year 5, and various leavers events. Cranberry Class joined Year 2s from other schools for a Mini Olympics at Ilfracombe Academy. They started off with some warm-ups then ran races, did the long jump, threw soft rockets (instead of javelins!) and played a team game called Dishes and Domes. The children really enjoyed themselves and had a great time. Blueberry Class Had a great time on their trip to Lynmouth. They visited the Flood Museum, the Exmoor Centre and Glen Lynn Gorge. Although the weather was wet the children still had lots of fun. Strawberry and Cranberry Would like to thank all the adults who came to the Digging Days and helped in the garden. The plants are growing well and we are looking forward to tasting the grub we are growing! Mr Barrett came to visit with his bees and told us how important they are to our gardens. Without them we wouldn’t be able to grow a lot of our food. Summer Fayre 4th July We need: teddy bears for the Teddy Tombola good quality toys bottles for the Bottle Tombola good quality raffle prizes If you have any ideas for a stall or activity, or can help in any way on the day please let us know. Summer Weather It is so lovely to have warm, sunny weather and be able to enjoy outside activities. However, we want to keep everyone safe and feeling well so please make sure your child has a bottle of water with them and a named hat. Also could they please come to school with sunscreen applied, if possible a 24 hour one for the younger children as we cannot apply sunscreen during the day. Older children who are able to apply their own sunscreen may have a named bottle in school kept in the designated place in their classroom. E-SAFETY It is important to keep track of what children are accessing online. From now on, if we become aware of your child accessing inappropriate online content we’ll let you know and offer advice to help keep your child safe. We currently have a Governor Vacancy at our schools.
