2. Objectives of the AW Fund
To support Non-Government, not-for-profit voluntary organisation to undertake finite animal welfare projects that have potential to:

Improving the well-being of animals.
Promote responsible ownership of animals.
Improved animal welfare facilities

4. Budget
During 2015, 8 NGO’s benefitted from Funds getting a total of €36, between them. The maximum amount applicable was of €5,000 per NGO.
During 2016, 8 NGO’s have benefitted from Funds, and between them a total amount of €39,898 will be disbursed.  Half of them were already given to these NGO’s so that projects can begin. The maximum amount applicable was of €5,000
During 2017, the Government has budgeted €60,000 to be disbursed between all applying NGOs. The ceiling has increased to €6,000.

6. Priorities 2017
Improvements in Animal Sanctuaries in line with the relevant EU and local regulations.
Neutering services for stray and cats
Specific expenses such as medicine, veterinary treatment, food and transport.

7. General Parameters Each Project shall not exceed €6,000
The grant shall not exceed 80% of the total estimated cost of the project (inclusive of VAT)
Structural improvement – evidence of ownership.
The project completion date must not in any way exceed 12 months
50% given upon signing and 50% after completion.
