2 WIAAP Vision and Mission
The Wisconsin Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (WIAAP) strives to: Assure optimal health and well-being for all of Wisconsin’s children and their families Provide support and education to our members, enabling them to continue to be the most effective providers of healthcare to children Vision Wisconsin children have optimal health and well-being and are valued by society. We practice the highest quality health care and experience professional satisfaction and personal well-being.

4 WIAAP Activities Advocacy Quality Improvement Mental Health Adolescent Health

5 WIAAP Advocacy WIAAP led advocacy efforts opposing changes to Medicaid (AHCA and BCRA), extension of Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) and Maternal Infant Early Home Visiting Program. Many WI pediatricians called in to their legislators, wrote op-eds, used social media to advocate for this. Chiropractor Bill AB260: WIAAP joined 15 other medical organizations opposing this bill and instead promoting sports participation physicals to be done within the medical home Children’s Caucus: Bipartisan led group to examine issues surrounding early childhood programming including home visiting, mental health screening/services, trauma informed care. Visits with WI legislators promoting policies to support early education and quality child care and policies that impact children’s health in WI

HPV MOC IV QI Project Spring 2016 WCHQ Maternal Child Health Network: New Statewide quality network of perinatal, child and adolescent health stakeholders across the state looking to work together to advance the health of children in WI through improved quality of care.

9 Future Activities Leader in advocating for children’s health in WI
Connections with medical school and pediatric residency programs Education of all WIAAP members ( s, newsletter, web site, blogs, conferences) HPV Summits Oct. 18 (Green Bay) and Oct. 26 (Eau Claire) WIAAP Pediatric Advocacy Day Spring 2018 Open Forums twice a year
