Everyone is pitching their ideas Everyone listening closely Everyone is adding collaboratively towards a goal Everyone is being respectful when someone is talking or sharing Everyone is actively engaged The goal of the meeting was accomplished A specific person is overextending themselves by talking more than their fair share The meeting time runs over 10 minutes plus Nothing was accomplished at the meeting Their is no clear order to the meeting Noone can tell what exactly happened at the meeting No preparation for the meeting was done

Tips for an Effective Meeting
Make your objective clear Meetings should be defined and conducted with a purpose. Without a defined purpose the objective becomes unclear and the goal of the meeting can’t be achieved.

2. Follow through & Lead up The preparation for a meeting is as essential as the follow up for the meeting. During the prep for the meeting agenda must be created with a timeline of minutes for the meeting and desired goal or purpose should be set.

3. Start on time, end on time Time is a precious resource and you owe it to you and your team to streamline the meeting. When meetings start and ending on time it amazing how many members make to effort to come to meetings. Try not to schedule meetings longer than a hour.

4. Take no hostages A meeting can be derailed easily when people take their fair share. To avoid this set ground rules early to establish the framework for group meetings & be public about it.

5. Using the Parliamentary procedure Conducting business can be made smooth and easy by using the parliamentary procedure. It's used as a guide to easily conduct business using Robert’s rules of Order Newly Revised

6. Follow up & debrief Before adjournment make sure to follow and debrief by recapping what was discussed at the meeting. Then send materials used at the meeting to the members to get a complete understanding of what was discussed at the meeting.
