2. Mac and PC are computer platforms that used to be distinguished by design architecture and chipsets.
Today, there are almost no differences except for the fact that Macs are manufactured by Apple and PCs are not (although technically speaking, Macs are PCs).
Mac refers to the "Macintosh" line of computers produced by Apple. More recently, this term is used to refer to iMac, Mac Pro, Mac mini and MacBook computers.
PC is a more general term, for which the original definition was Personal Computer. The term evolved to become a polarizing distinction, contrasting with Mac computers, and usually meaning a computer running a Microsoft operating system on Intel x86 architecture.
Generally, the phrase "Mac or & PC" refers to either an Apple computer running Mac OS X or a PC running Microsoft Windows; however, this is technically misleading, since almost any operating system can be installed on either architecture.

Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs are both co-founders and developers of Apple Computers. They had both belonged to and met through the Homebrew Computer Club. Steve Wozniak would build computers as a hobby. He soon realized that the prices of computer pieces had gotten so low that he could afford to buy them and teamed up with Steve Jobs to build computers. On April Fool’s Day 1976 they started Apple Computers by releasing the Apple I.

The Apple I computer was the first single circuit board computer. It came with 8K of RAM, a keyboard and a video interface. Two hundred Apple Is were built and sold for $666.66
In 1977 they released the Apple II computer. The new Apple II was based on the same 6502 processor that the Apple I was built with but the Apple II had color graphics, an audio cassette drive for storage and 4KB of RAM. A year later the Apple II was increased to 48KB of RAM and the cassette drive was replaced by a floppy disk drive.

In January 1983 the Lisa is released selling for $9,998. It is promoted as “The Personal Computer that Works the Way you Do.” The Lisa was made to complement the successful Apple I and II home computer. The important quality of the Lisa is that it was one of the first personal computer to use a graphical user interface or GUI. The Lisa also included a hierarchal file system, drop down menu bar, windows, ability to copy and paste, folders, a mouse and icons. The Lisa was a very expensive machine to make. It cost fifty million dollars to develop and one hundred million dollars to write the software. Unfortunately only 10,000 units were ever sold

6. The Lisa 2 and The Macintosh

One year after the Lisa was released the Lisa 2 was released. The Lisa 2 had a 3.5” drive instead of two 5.25”. The Lisa 2 cost half of the cost of the Lisa.
Along with the Lisa 2, Apple Computers also released the Macintosh. It was an easy to use, all in one desktop computer with a GUI. In 1986 the Lisa, Lisa 2 and Macintosh were scrapped. In late 1985 Apple tried to make the Macintosh more attractive to small businesses by releasing the “Macintosh Office” featuring the Laser Writer and the Apple Talk networking technology.

October 23, 2001 Steve Jobs introduces the iPod. The iPod is a portable hard disk MP3 player with 5GB capacity, backlight LCD display and headphones. In 2004 Apple announces that over 100 million songs were downloaded from iTunes music store. It became the most successful legal only music download service in the internet. Also in 2004 Steve Jobs introduced the fourth generation iPod in 20 and 40 GB it has improved battery life and the Apple Click Wheel.

Apple is sometimes preferred more than other computers because it has a very flexible screenshot. Items are able to be dragged and dropped much more easily than Windows. The mouse only has one button…why click two buttons when it can be done with one? The graphics are much sharper and more advanced especially when it comes to desktop publishing.

Pros:
Price: Linux is F-R-E-E. You can download it, install it, use it, modify it... All for a whooping 0$. Variety: Linux is not a full operating system. It is just a kernel. To use the kernel, additional software needs to be bundled with Linux. Several hundreds of these bundles (called "distributions" or simply "distros") exist. The most popular ones include Ubuntu, Mint and Fedora. The good thing is, with so many different flavors of Linux, there is always one to suit your needs!
Viruses: Although being more vulnerable to viruses than Mac (because it is open source), Linux still has very, very, very few viruses.
Cons:
Complicated: Although some distros are quite easy to use, most of them will required a good deal of computer knowledge in order to get them to work.
Compatibility: Like Mac, representing only a few percent's of the market share, Linux does not have as many programs and games as Windows.
Vendors: You won't find a lot of vendors selling Linux computers. Usually, you'll just end up having to buy Windows computer, reformatting the hard drive, and installing Linux yourself.

17. Macintosh
Pros:
Viruses: Apple Macs get almost no viruses. This is mostly due to Window's superior market share.
Reliability: Macs only run on Apple computers, and are thus less prone to hardware and software crashing.
Looks: Let's face it, most of the time, Mac just looks better than Windows.
Cons:
Expensive: Mac costs even more than Windows.
Only available on Apple computers: If you already have a computer, you cannot install MAC on it unless it's an Apple. Otherwise, you must buy a new computer.
Compatibility: Only a few programs will run on Mac, and almost no games.

Pros:
Compatibility: Almost every application, driver or game will work on Windows. Technical support: Having so many users, you can always find someone (either online or offline) who can help you with Windows.
Huge quantity of function: When you get to know Windows well, you'll find out that there are so many functions that you can do almost anything quite easily.
Cons:
Viruses: You may need to buy an antivirus program, although free ones exist. Slow: Windows, especially Vista and 7, requires a lot of computer resources (memory, processor, disk space), and thus, runs slower.
Price: It easily costs over a hundred dollars.
