Chem – Guide to Cornell Notes Ms. Ingham
Main ideas Notes How do we use Cornell notes in chem? IN GENERAL -When reading main ideas in section will go to left -Explanations of main ideas to the right -Summary comes at the end of the notes where student will give a brief overview of the notes taken DO I NEED TO WRITE EVERYTHING? -Noooooo!!!! -Please summarize whenever possible. Summary: the summary is very important in letting you know if you TRULY understood the notes you took. If you can’t write a proper summary, you probably didn’t understand the notes you took. If this occurs go back over the reading and ask Ms. Ingham about items you do not understand.
