3. What is the Local Plan? Borough Local Plan 2005 Being replaced by….:
The Core Strategy (2014) = ‘Part 1’ of the new LP:
460 new homes per year
Main focus on development in existing towns and villages, esp Redhill
Need for urban extensions to some communities to meet longer term needs for housing
The Development Management Plan = ‘Part 2’

4. What is the DMP? Part 2 of the new Local Plan. Will include:
Policies to guide decision making on planning applications
Policy designations, where a particular policy approach will be applied
Site allocations, for particular types/scales of development
Will be guided by Core Strategy and national policy requirements

5. The Regulation 18 consultation

An opportunity to influence what goes in the final plan for example:

Which parts of the borough should be protected
Your views on potential development sites that have been identified
