8. Road charging (upcoming?)
Problems:
Crumbling infrastructure (maintenance funding gap)
Congestion (1-2% EU GDP)
Patchwork of incompatible systems in the EU
→Solution: Fair, efficient and better coordinated road pricing
The Commission considers the possibility to revise Directive 1999/62/EC ("Eurovignette") to address the problems
