Two Main Groups of Animals:
1. Vertebrates- animals with backbones. The backbone provides support and helps them move. 2. Invertebrates- animals without backbones. They have hard coverings and shells for protection.

THE VERTEBRATES Two Types of Vertebrates:
A. Endothermic- warm-blooded, able to regulate their own body heat. (*inside temp.) 1. Mammals- only group with hair – babies grow inside – mothers give milk to babies - have lungs 2. Birds- have feathers – hatch from eggs - hollow bones ..\Video Clips\Introduction_to_Birds.asf
