4. VCR 8 Quiz Get your laptops and pull up the quiz. No talking!

Get into groups of 4. Assign one member of the group to get your reading packets from me. Use your answer sheets to discuss the answers. ->Use your rationale in your discussions. You must have one written. When you establish a group answer, write it in the group answer portion of the answer sheet.

Open a blank Google Doc and title it, “ Symbolism Evaluation”.
Analyze the poem for symbolism. Write down the at least 5 words from the poem and the connotative meanings from the text.
When you have finished, write one sentence explaining the main idea of the poem.
How did symbolism play a role in your understanding of the poem?

Create your own poem based off of “A Work of Artifice”.
In the original, the poem’s point of view is through the gardener’s eyes; I want you to create a poem that is taken from the aspect of the “bonsai tree.”

Take out your LotF book and read. This is a good time to answer the study guide questions and annotate. Based on our lecture, annotate for symbolism in LotF.
