SUMMER READING! Have your child choose a favorite book to read over the summer and complete a quilt square based on that book. The 8 ½ X 8 ½ quilt square should be made on the attached piece of white paper and should include the book, title, author, and your child’s name. In addition to an illustration or decoration, your child should complete one of the following activities: • List 3-5 character traits that describe the main character. • Write how the main character changed from the beginning of the story to the end of the story. Write the life lesson learned by the main character. Illustrations can be done with crayon, marker, colored pencils, cut and pasted on construction paper, etc. Your child should have fun with it while doing his/her best work! When we return to school in September, all students will be combining their quilt squares to make a Northvale School quilt. We look forward to seeing all the quilt squares combined to create a Northvale masterpiece of books read! Happy Reading, The Fourth Grade Teachers
