9 Major Attractions Some major attractions in South Dakota are Corn Palace, Mount Rushmore, Needle’s Eye, Wall Drug, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, Badlands, and the Black Hills. Crazy Horse, Needle’s Eye, and Mount Rushmore are monuments. Crazy Horse is still being carved, Mount Rushmore is already carved, and Needles Eye has been done for a long time.

18 Fun Facts Korczak Ziolkowski started to carve the BIG Crazy House monument on Thunderhead Mountain Gutzon Borglum started to carve Mount Rushmore(George W., Thomas J., Abraham L., and Theodore R.) in 1927 Borglum died in 1941, so his son directed the project(Lincoln) Korczak was working on Crazy Horse monument at Thunderhead Mountain which is 17 miles away from Mount Rushmore Crazy Horse Monument- 563ft high x 641ft long
