Campaign Website Site Planning

Source Sites The websites I have taken inspiration from are ones such as the official website for the UK charity, Comic Relief and the official Neighborhood Watch website. While looking over these two sites, I have found some many useful inspirations. Some pieces of inspiration came from the variety of tabs containing all sorts of different information; from the history of the organization (when it first began to present to their goals and achievements.

Site Design While looking over these sights, I found they both had a menu of pages to click on and read, including: Background and Goals: Explain what the campaign is trying to achieve and why the organization was formed. History: Since my campaign is trying to re-activate an already existing organization, I will add a history page, explaining what Neighborhood Watch was and what it’s goals were, why the organization came to a halt etc. Contact Page: Goes without saying; a means for possible supporters to contact the head of the group for more information. News and Events: The page that highlights any recent achievements such as new neighborhoods joining or a deal made with a larger charity/organization. What I enjoy about these websites are the fact that they both a produced to a very reasonable professional degree and both have their own uniqueness to them. The individual tabs are the key things I aim to take away from them and make my own for my website division of my final project.

Secondary Campaign Research
In order to complete this final project, I will be both Primary and Secondary research. Primary research is the type of research I do myself, such as questionnaires and surveys; both online and print versions. We also created online surveys during our research for the overall campaign on SurveyMonkey. Secondary research includes doing research you have not collected yourself; Internet, books etc. However, I will be using the Harvard method form CandI which filters only the most reliable papers and websites relevant to your work.

Visual Arts Campaign I will also be planning some visual style areas of the campaign. As most of my campaign is focused on helping to prevent crimes such as vandalism and littering, there will be two main color schemes I am aiming to use: Half of the website scheme will be a darker color, lots of blacks and dark reds to reflect on the subject matter at hand while the second half of the site will be brighter and more joyful; light blues and greens will help to reflect on the peaceful and helpful community the organization of Neighborhood Watch aimed to create in the first place.
