Review of Preview of

2 2016-2017 Common Academic Goals
Early Literacy (K-1) By June of 2017, X% or more of all K-1 students at ALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS will have met the Student Growth Percentile (SGP) expectation of 40 or greater in the area of Early Literacy as measured by the STAR Early Literacy Assessment. Reading (Gr. 2-5) By June of 2017, X% or more of all grades 2-5 students at ALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS will have met the Student Growth Percentile (SGP) expectation of 40 or greater in the area of Reading as measured by the STAR Reading Assessment.

3 Mathematics (Gr. 2-5) By June of 2017, X% or more of all grades 2-5 students at ALL DISTRICT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS  will have met the Student Growth Percentile (SGP) expectation of 40 or greater in the area of Math as measured by the STAR Math Assessment.

4 Other Common 2016-2017 Goals: Diversity Awareness and Culture & Climate
In the school year, ALL DISTRICT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL administration and staff will develop their capacity in the area of diversity awareness and cultural responsibility as measured by the successful completion of specific action steps listed below. In the school year, ALL DISTRICT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS will focus on a "Cleaner Greener" school environment by coordinating community outdoor clean up events as measured by the successful completion of specific action steps during both the fall and spring dates assigned. During the school year, each Elementary School will improve teaching practices and student engagement as measured by the Tripod Academic Student Perceptions Survey and by the successful completion of specific action steps to address 2 Tripod Focus Areas.

5 Cleaner Greener!

6 ATKINSON ACADEMY 2016-2017 Reflections and Highlights
All grade levels achieved growth in the areas of Literacy and Mathematics as measured by our STAR assessment. Though we didn’t meet the Early Literacy K-1 goal set at 80%, 74% was a success! School-wide assemblies, staff meetings, and TELA training focused on increasing diversity awareness and cultural responsibilities. Atkinson families came together for Spring Clean-Up and we strengthened our recycling efforts at the school. Atkinson students and staff focused on two areas of TRIPOD: Captivate and Classroom Management. Teachers worked to create more engaging, interesting lessons, and fostering positive classroom conditions. Our data has shown that we need to continue to work on effective classroom management strategies and achievement in all content areas through differentiated strategies for all learners. We look forward to working once again on Cleaner Greener projects to beautify our school grounds. Diversity Awareness will become the focus of our Enrichment Days.

7 DANVILLE ELEMENTARY 2016-2017 Reflections and Highlights
Danville staff used a collaborative teaching model to form deeper connections with more children. Unified arts and special educators joined classroom teachers during daily morning meetings to teach and practice soft skills needed to be successful citizens. Whole school enrichment days were scheduled to expose students to different modes of learning, with a focus on careers, STEAM learning, and environmental awareness. Staff collaborated to include the Design Process to support inquiry through integration of curricula using technology, research, and science. Final design projects were shared at the annual Academic Fair. Our data shows we need to broaden teachers experiences with instructional strategies to meet all kinds of learners. We look forward to adopting new instructional strategies by focusing on and understanding student learning styles.

8 POLLARD SCHOOL 2016-2017 Reflections and Highlights
All grade levels successfully met school growth goals in the areas of Early Literacy, Reading, and Mathematics as measured by our STAR assessment. Pollard families, including many girl and boy scouts and our Garden Club, came together for Fall & Spring Clean-Ups and truly came together as a community. Pollard students and staff focused on two areas of TRIPOD: Captivate and Classroom Management and successfully made growth in both of these areas. Responsive Classroom professional development was offered to both professional and support staff. We also focused our staff meetings on ways teachers could better reach all children. Our data shows that we need to continue to work on differentiating in the areas of math and reading instruction, and to focus on strategies for classroom management/behavior. We look forward to using Achieve 3000 this school year as well as to continue to hone in on our data protocol skills to best meet the needs of all of our students. Now have 2 district programs (ED & ASD) but we also have 1 curriculum coordinator and an assistant principal Responsive Classroom PD and a focus during staff meetings throughout the year Using data to focus our instruction and differentiate more during “What I Need Time” (W.I.N.) We followed district data protocols during all staff committee meetings (STAR, SBAC, Science NECAP, Tripod, SWIS)

9 SANDOWN CENTRAL 2016-2017 Reflections and Highlights
All students made gains in the acquisition of early literacy skills. The staff discussed and addressed the captivate and classroom management area of the TRIPOD.   For classroom management, teams rolled out a “Hallway Behavior” protocol for all students and staff were trained in the Pyramid Model for assisting children with disabilities and behavior issues. The community came together to lend a hand or two with Sandown Central’s Cleaner Greener projects.  Our data has shown that we need to work on targeting specific skills with students who are not yet meeting benchmarks in early literacy. The Sandown Central staff look forward to more collaboration and team-building as we are now in our third year together as a new school.   We are also focusing on improving communication between staff, students, administration, and the community. Teachers worked together on implementing a school-wide PBIS initiative targeting respect, responsibility and safety.

10 SANDOWN NORTH 2016-2017 Reflections and Highlights
The school growth goals for Early Literacy, Reading, and Math were achieved. Close coordination of the teaching of skills and concepts among all a child’s educators became the priority. Data was collected on student/staff connections. Committees worked with the data to offer supports and scaffolds as needed. Sandown families engaged in clean-up activities and continue to support the staff with recycling efforts. The Tripod areas of Challenge and Captivate guided the work with staff/student connections. Students responses to “What Makes You Excited to Learn” was used to form interest study groups. Our data has shown that we need to continue to work on building successful educator teams and a culture that facilitates collaborative and meaningful work. We look forward to engaging students through experiences that are personalized to their learning preferences and tailored to their needs.

11 2017-18 ACTION PLAN GOALS Literacy
By June of 2018, X% or more (% determined by individual schools) of all students will have met the Student Growth Percentile (SGP) expectation of 50 or greater in the areas of Early Literacy (K-1) and Reading (Gr. 2-5) as measured by the STAR assessments.  Math By June of 2018, X% or more (% determined by individual schools) of all grades 2-5 students at all elementary schools will have met the Student Growth Percentile (SGP) expectation of 50 or greater in the area of Math as measured by the STAR Math Assessment.  School Climate and Culture In the school year, all elementary schools will focus on cultivating positive learning environments within each school community as measured by the Tripod student perceptions survey and the completion of several events and activities throughout the school year. Climate Areas we all hope to include: Tripod/7C’s, greener cleaner, diversity, building successful educator teams (Professional Learning Committees-PLC’s) Additionally, we look forward to a successful roll-out of a new elementary report card, using Achieve3000 with our students, and continuing our efforts to use data to meet individual student needs.
