By maya alone Arjuna thought that the temporary bodily relationship with his kinsmen was more important than his eternal spiritual relationship with Krishna.

8. The whole teaching of the Gita is targeted toward this end: Our sense of identity apart from Krishna is called maya. As Krishna's eternal servitors, we have a purpose to fulfill.

Krishna is in relationships and since we’re made in Krishna’s image we are made to live in relationship – first with Krishna and second with others. There is a vertical and there is a horizontal relationship.
