2 Background Small 6th form – 87 in Year 12, 83 in Year 13
Approximately 45% of Year 11 leave us 1 year 6th in business ended in 2011 2 learning routes – one academic, one vocational BTEC in Health and Social Care, Performing Arts, Business, Rock School L3 Cambridge Technical in ICT from September

3 Rationale We need to increase numbers Our students don’t want to leave
Some are not ready for level 3 courses but would be in a year

4 One year 6th English and maths retake
2 Cambridge technical extended certificates (180GLH) Or 1 Cambridge technical diploma (360GLH) 1 day of work experience per week

5 English and Maths Students with a D or a 3 have to do GCSE to be eligible for funding. Lower than a D or a 3 don’t have to GCSE. These will do a stepping stone qualification – possibly functional maths. We will look at this on a case by case basis and may double enter The plan is for 2 hours a week of teaching for each

6 Cambridge technicals Level 2 post 16 qualifications
Not a repeat of a level 2 course They don’t have UCAS points Offer a progression route to level 3 study No exam at present (will not carry performance points) Reformed ones for 2017 will have external exam and will need to demonstrate the qualification is preparing students for the world of work.
