2 The Cunning Little Vixen
Originally called „Liška Bystrouška“ Comes from a fable by Bohemian-Moravian author Rudolf Těsnohlídek, written in 1920 There is a statue in honour of this fox in Hukvaldy, which is both a village and a castle Visitors of this place often touch the tail and muzzle of the statue, this should bring luck It has been stolen recently, but it is already replaced

3 The Cunning Little Vixen
The story Game warden Bartoš is coming back home from get-together with friends at a pub. He falls asleep at a forrest and he needs an excuse why is returning so late. That’s why he steals little fox cup as a gift for his grandson Pepík. This fox is named Bystrouška. She’s not happy that she should be someone’s pet so she misbehaves. Bystrouška escapes after the decimation of a henhouse and continues to find her home.

4 The Cunning Little Vixen and Leoš Janáček
Leoš Janáček was Moravian-Slesian composer He was so enchanted with this fable that he used the story as a libretto for his opera named Stories of Cunning Little Vixen The opera was first played in 1924

This is a small part of Ave Maria which L. Janáček remade.

6 Šemík the horse Šemík is a horse from Bohemian myth
He saved his owner Horymír from death by jumping off the castle Vyšehrad and he took him to Neumětele where Šemík died because of the injuries caused by the jump.

7 The myth Horymír was accused of destroying the gold and silver mines. His punishment was ment to be death but he was saved by his horse Šemík who jumped with Horymír off the castle Vyšehrad where Horymír was meant to be held until the day of his punishment. Šemík jumped to the river Vltava which flows below the castle. Šemík saved his owner and brought him to his residence in Neumětele where Šemík dies because of the injuries.

8 Šemík the horse The myth was adjusted by Alois Jirásek and added to his work Old Bohemian Tales. Šemík and Horymír are at the coat of arms of Horoměřice.
